In a medieval times environment, what could be used as a real life example as a Golgi Apparatus?

goods arrive there from distant places, and are being prepared for shipment from the castle.
possibly there is a workshop for modifications ("sugary") in the vicinity

nowadays it would be a post office but medieval times... not sure, agree with ttom marketplace would make the most sense

maybe a blacksmithing shop, items go in are changed in and then sent out to different people/places
