-2x - 3y =4 9x-8y = 25 using substitution, need to figure out x and y. I got x = -5 and y = 2 Is this right?

that is incorrect because you can check your answer by plugging in the values you find (x and y) into the original equations. For instance, plugging the x and y values you found into the first equation yields a result of 4=4 so your values satisfy the top equation and are true. However, if you plug your x and y values into the next equation the equation result is -61=25 which is not true

Use a substitution by getting x alone in one equation and then substituting what you get for x into the next equation. Meaning you will solve for the y value.
