give an example of the contrapositive of the following conditional statement and state if the statement is true or false..... if two angles are vertical then they have equal measures.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If p, then q. The contrapositive is If not q, then not p. If two angles do not have equal measures, then the two angles are not vertical. It is true. Contrapositive is always true.

OpenStudy (turingtest):

really? I was that wrong?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

TuringTest, you have given the converse. Statement: If p, then q. Inverse: If q, then p. Converse: If not p, then not q. Contrapositive: If not q, then not p. Only the contrapositive is always true. The other two may or may not depending on what the conditional is.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thankyou to both of you

OpenStudy (turingtest):

yes, I am completely wrong. Thanks cowsgomoo. How embarrassing...
