ok assuming that the 8 and 5 are the whole numbers let us find the least common denominator (where the denominators are both equal to each by multiplication) I see 50 so for the first fraction multiply the top and bottom by 2 to get the bottom to be 50 and multiiply the second fraction by 5 8 8/50 + 5 5/50 now add 13 13/50
