Is there any short cut's in fractions so it makes iteasierr on me to understand it a whole lot better than i do?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Make them improper fractions, do you know what those are?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know what them are but how do you change iit into an improper fractions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Aka if you have a fraction 2 and 3/4, you make it improper by changing it to 11/4, the way you accomplish this is you multiply your denominator by your whole number in this case, 4*2 to get 8 and add it to your numerator. 8+3= 11

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you understand how to do that? If not I can try to help you continue to learn.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what about imprpoper to proper?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You do the same thing, but completely backwards. if you have 11/4 and you see that you can take an 8 out of it, since it is divisble by 4 take that 8/4 = 2 and then 3 left over for your 3/4
