What the definiton of cilia? And the definition of flagella?
the both hair but on a cilia hlpmove but i can remember right.
A flagellum is a tail-like projection that protrudes from the cell body of certain prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, and plays the dual role of locomotion and sense organ, being sensitive to chemicals and temperatures outside the cell. A cilium is an organelle found in eukaryotic cells. Cilia are slender protuberances that project from the much larger cell body. The regular beat patterns of eukaryotic cilia and flagella generate motion on a cellular level.
Flagella helps in locomotion but I'm not sure about the function of the cilia.
cilia help in moving the particles which are present around them and flagella help in locomotion prokaryotic flagella show rotational movement and eukaryotic flagella shows undulatory or wavy like movement
Cilia are responsible for moving materials across the cellular membrane they are more hair like than flagella. A flagella is the "motor" for some cells. The best example of a flagella is a sperm cell. Good luck :) ===bioboumani===
