Write the equation of the line which passes through (2, 1) and is perpendicular to x = –2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright so you have a line x=-2. If you were to graph that, it would be a vertical line. If you draw any line perpendicular to the line, it will be horizontal. The slope of any line is 0. So far so good?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So with a slope of 0, you can plug it into the point-slope formula. you will get y-1=0, so the equation is y=1
