Is there some way that the first derivative can tell you if a function is concave up or concave down on an interval?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If the derivative is negative, then 0, then goes to positive it is concave up. If the derivative is positive, then 0, then negative then it is concave down. Remember that the derivative is the slope of the original function.
