It takes Hank twice as long to build one table as it takes to build one chair. If it takes 30 hours to make a dinning room set of 1 table and 4 chairs, how long does it take to make the table?

let time taken by Hank to build a chair be 'x' hours
=> time taken to build a table = 2x hours

time taken( 1 table + 4 chairs) = Total time

2x + (x + x +x +x) = 30

6x = 30
x = 30/6
x = 5

Since it takes Hank 2x hours to build a table,
Time taken to build table = 2x = 2(5) = 10hours.
