Evaluate the limit using L'Hopitals Rule: lim as x approaches 0+ of (1+x)^cotx

OpenStudy (agreene):

\[\lim_{x \rightarrow 0} (1+x)^{\cot(x)}\] yes?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes.

OpenStudy (agreene):

Is this from a text or from your instructor? because it fails the requirements for Bernoulli's rule (l'Hopital's)

OpenStudy (agreene):

your answer is going to be: e but I don't think you can use Bernoulli's to do it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do you get that?

OpenStudy (agreene):

http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=limit+x-%3E0%2B+%281%2Bx%29%5E%28cot%28x%29%29 is how I got it... but like I said, you cant use l'hopitals because it fails the requirements to do so.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, thanks.
