can anyone help me? http://www.rmes.us/AngelUploads/Content/MAT201//_assoc/Content/G%20Images/u2m8q1.jpg If a regular pentagon has an apothem approximately 5.5 in. long and a side 8 in. long, what is its area? A) 110 in.2 B) 220 in.2 C) 70 in.2 D) 150 in.2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think is D not sure if it right?!

OpenStudy (precal):

There is a formula for that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh do u know a wed site that i can check it out!? please!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cuz right now i'm work on Area: Regular Polygons and i just don't get it

OpenStudy (precal):

I found it on an my old formula chart. A=(1/2)aP a is apthem and P is perimeter

OpenStudy (precal):

A=(1/2)(5.5)(40) A=110

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so did u like X it all or something!?

OpenStudy (precal):

yes multiply all three numbers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

AWWWWW!!! kk so if i had like this http://www.rmes.us/AngelUploads/Content/MAT201//_assoc/Content/G%20Images/u2m8q3.jpg What is the approximate area of a regular decagon with an apothem ≈ 30.8' and a side = 20'? A) 6160 ft.2 B) 1530 ft.2 C) 3080 ft.2 D) 2050 ft.2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i would have to do (30.8)(20) ? right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

X

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and this one would be A?! right!?

OpenStudy (precal):

No because the formula is only for the regular polygon. Sorry I had to go do something.

OpenStudy (precal):

you might want to google area formula for a regular decagon.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it kk : / is there a web site so i can look at that can help me on this stuff....?

OpenStudy (precal):

ok I am not understanding you what is kk:/

OpenStudy (precal):
