Describe an experiment you could perform to determine whether Pb2+ had leached into water drawn from plumbing in which lead was used to solder to join copper pipes. !!

Add potassium iodide solution to a sample of the water. If Pb2+ ions were present in the water, a yellow precipitate would form.

Spectrophotometry, with it you can determine the amount of Pb in the water and see if the value is beyond the normal values. Of course the if you want just a qualitative determination the reactions with iodide would work just fine.
