My algebra teacher told me that sometimes in algebra equations... I think he said if you had to multiply it or something you had to change the way the > or < sign was going... would I have to change the sign in this problem: -40>8b?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you change the signs when you divide by a negative

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and multiply by a negative

OpenStudy (anonymous):

^^^ and when you multiply by a negative...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but essentially if you think about it, it could be left as multiplying by a negative since dividing is just multiplying by a reciprocal

Ok thank you :)
