why is shade netting for greenhouses usually green? how is this beneficial?

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

chlorophyll needs to absorb green light , green shading is not a good idea because the plants are competing to absorb the green light

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so by putting a green shade net on your greenhouse, it would help cool the plants down because it's absorbing light?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, chlorophyll reflects green light. Green shade lowers the total amount of light hitting the leaf and evaporating the water inside, but doesn't lower the amount of useful light that can be converted to useable energy by the plant.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Shade netting for greenhouse help the plant have optimum light intensity from the sun thus the plant is able to use the sun's lays to make their own food through photosynthusis
