OpenStudy (frostbite):

Enzyme kinetics: Can the konstant KM in Michaelis-Menten model change when the model is exposed to a inhibitor, or do we use another equation to find a additional vaulue to KM?

OpenStudy (frostbite):

And i mean reversible competitive inhibition .

OpenStudy (frostbite):

The Michaelis-Menten equation: \[v=\left(\begin{matrix}v_{\max} \\1+\left(\begin{matrix}K_{M} \\ [s]\end{matrix}\right) \end{matrix}\right)\]

OpenStudy (trancenova):

(I think you are working a little above me - but I'll give it a go anyway). I think you would use the same equation (still MM relationship) as there is just a change in the MM constant/ maximum rate. I'm not quite sure where you are coming from, were you given some values and had to find it or something? (I've just learnt it on a theory basis).

OpenStudy (frostbite):

Found the bloody answer it is kinda mind screwing, works in theory and a I made experiment can't falsify it + A dozen of articles I found.

OpenStudy (trancenova):

Gah, sounds annoying but atleast you have the answer! :D
