hi..i was just wondering if someone could help me in explaing the role of simple columnar epithelium in the stomach

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you want to know about the epithelial tissues found in the stomach?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the question asked me to outline the four main tissue types in the stomach, i know that there is epithelium found there but im not sure if it is just simple columnar that is present.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The tissues found in the stomach are: Epithelial tissue: Protects the stomach walls from the hydrochloric acid. Connective tissue: Is the blood in the walls of the stomach Nervous tissue: Controls acid production in the stomach. It also helps contract and coordinate stomach muscle. Muscle tissue: Mixes stomach contents and forces them towards the lower intestines. It is in between the epithelial tissues.
