(3s + 4 )(s + 2 )
Let me explain a bit. 6 + 4 is 10. 4 * 2 is 8. 3*2 is 6. We have a factor of 3 here. We need to know what we can add to get the middle number and what we can multiply to get the rightmost number. Hope this helps.
If we work this backwards, we have: (3s+4)(s+2) 3s*s = 3s^2 3s*2 = 6s 4*s = 4s 4*2 = 8 Adding together we have: 3s^2+6s+4s+8 3s^2+10s+8 Hope this helps.
so the answer has to be whatever adds up to the middle and multiply to the last one?
