i have a question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the numbers have to add to middle and multiply the end but -7+3 doesn't equal 2?? I'm confused lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you dont add you multiply

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

that's because it's not -7 and 3, it's really 9-7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is -7 * 3 which is -21

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Here's the check: (3v - 7)(v + 3) 3v^2+9v-7v-21 3v^2+2v-21

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where did the 9v come from?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

3v*3 = 9v (first*last)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ahhh ok
