same idea as before multiply the first and last coefficients (6 and 6) to get 6*6 = 36 now you need to find two numbers that multiply to 36 and add to 13 (the middle coefficient) These two numbers are 9 and 4 So this means that we replace 13qw with 9qw+4qw to get 6q^2+13qw+6w^2 6q^2+9qw+4qw+6w^2 Now factor by grouping 6q^2+9qw+4qw+6w^2 (6q^2+9qw)+(4qw+6w^2) 3q(2q+3w)+(4qw+6w^2) 3q(2q+3w)+2w(2q+3w) (3q+2w)(2q+3w) So 6q^2+13qw+6w^2 completely factors to (3q+2w)(2q+3w) In other words, 6q^2+13qw+6w^2 = (3q+2w)(2q+3w)
