look fist get the canoe is going south east separate its horizontal and vertical components. the coe is flowing 0.41/sqrt2 east and 0.41/sqrt2 south the river is flowing 0.5 east with respect to river canoe flows with (0.41/sqrt2 - 0.5) east and (0.41/sqrt2 - 0) south
