K=3 -2 | 1 -k -6 8 -2 2k+4 -4k+4 ____________________________ 1 -2k+2 2k-2 -4k+12 -4k+12 must equal 0, in order for x+2 to be a factor. Solving that equation, k=3. Hope this helps!
