Can anybody explain to me how to solve quadratic functions ?
do you have any examples?
you can use quadratic formula
\[-b \pm \sqrt{b ^{2}-4ac} \over 2a\]a is the first number (it might be 1) b is the second, and c the third. you can factor too.
Can yall explain how to factor polynomials?
You can factor the equation into f(x)=(x+s)(x+p) form
f(x)=ax^2+bx+c You multiply a by c and you have to find two numbers that when you multiply them equals to a*c and when add them equals to b For example 2x^2+7x+6: 2x6= 12 The numbers 3 and 4 when multiplied equals 12 and when added equals seven
The next step is to replace the middle terms with the two new terms 2x^2+4x+3x+6. Then you place brackets and then you factor (2x^2+4x)(3x+6) Factor: 2x(x+2)+3(x+2) If both of the insides of the brackets are the same which they should then you can gather the "like terms" : (2x+3) (x+2)=f(x) You just gotta remember the steps
Factoring does not always work but the quadratic formula works 100% of the time. Factoring is faster than the quadratic formula.
