graph 1/2x<4

OpenStudy (katrinakaif):

You have to mulitply by the reciprocal on the other side giving: 1/2x < 4 x < 4 x 2/1 x < 8 When you graph this on a number line, you would make a hollow dot at 8 and a line shooting to the left from that point =)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2(1/2)x<4(2) multiply both sides by 2 to get rid of the fraction: x<8 on a number line you circle the number 8 and draw a line from the circle to the left.
