OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it y(x+5)/5?

OpenStudy (a_clan):

-y(x+5)/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That answer is wrong. You can flip the second fraction around and change the divide to multiply. (assuming that is not what you did)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A_clan, the bottom thingy is 3(5-x), not 3(x-5). So you cannot simplify it, unfortunately.

OpenStudy (a_clan):

??

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

\[{x^2-25 \over 15x} \div {5-x \over 5xy}\] \[={x^2-25 \over 15x} \times {5xy \over 5-x}\] \[={(x+5)(x-5) \over 3\times5x }\times {5xy \over 5-x}\] \[={(x+5)(x-5) \over 3 }\times {y \over 5-x}\] \[={y \times(x+5)(x-5) \over 3 \times (5-x)}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, there is a negative up there beside your y. Sorry, you're right.

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

\[={(x+5)(x-5) \over 3 }\times {-y \over x-5}\] \[={-y(x+5) \over 3 }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i need to head off, thanks for the much needed help!
