Henry Hudson was a very good navigator and sailor who named and explored Hudson Bay in Canada and the Hudson River in America.

Hudson was hired by the Muscovy Company in 1607, to find a waterway from Europe to Asia. Hudson made two trips (in 1607 and 1608), but failed to find a route to China.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

After failing to find the northwest passage his crew mutinied (sp?) and set him and his son adrift in what is now Hudson Bay. This was the last time anyone ever saw him.
