A,B,C, AND D are collinear, points C, X, Y, and Z are collinear, AB=BC=CX=YZ, AD=54, XY=22 and XZ=33. Find the indicated length od AB, BD, CY, CD, XC, and CZ

OpenStudy (precal):

collinear means the points are all on the same line. Draw a picture and label them.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes.. But how do you get the answer of numbers when there are no numbers of AB?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you dont start from the beginning, you'll have to work backwards.you'll have to start with what they give you, then after you figure out x, y, z, from what theyve given you you then try to look for c then b then a

OpenStudy (radar):

Wouldn't YZ=11 (33-22) If so then so would CX, AB, BC, CD would be 32 (54-(11+11))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Both answers make perfect sense. Thank you all for helping.
