I am good @ algebra, but terrible at word problems? should I bother to continue studying maths if I cannot apply it to real situations??
just practice. that's the best formula for math! :D
Sure! You just need to practice! That's the easy part. If you're good at math, you'll get it. It comes with practice and understanding. The more you understand why 2+2=4 the easier it will be to apply it to real life.
I have been practicing for 3 days straight.
i can do simple ones like 2 times a number.........
Well what are you having trouble with?
basically it is finding the correct variables and terms from the sentence, (translating the sentence into algebra)
oh. that's pretty hard to explain that here. well, what i did was practice and understanding the topics, and asking my teacher how he got it. serious group study will work too. :)
try re-writing the question (with out the useless information)
how do i know what is useless info??
well numbers and units are important and so are words that are operators,
