Open Study doesn't work well when one has a relatively small screen resolution. (See attached).
This link seems to address the question fairly well and seems especially relevant since Open Study seems to use HTML5: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5336677/html-5-and-css-style-change-upon-screen-size
Yuck at the profile page. What resolution is that, if you know? We admittedly taylor to our most popular resolutions which is a bit larger than the old "standard" 1024x768, so we know we leave a small percentage of users behind.
As for adaptive screen layouts, they are a bit more work. We definitely want to make one, but it's a matter of time investment at the moment. It's higher priority now that the latest smartphone OSes implement position: fixed in a weird way, since that breaks the site on mobile browsers, as well. That said, we've got some bigger fish to fry at the moment.
