Ok everyone , here's another one: Determine.whether teh ordered pair is a solution of the system. #5, ordered pair: (7,5) and the system is {y > 6x - 3 and y is greater than or equal to -8x +5, is that right(the symbol or is it wrong, just let me know and I can fix it, thanks!!) OpenStudy (agreene):

again, try plugging in. y>6x-3 5>6*7-3 <-- evaluate

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, I have an answer 5 > 39 is that correct?

OpenStudy (agreene):

that is correct, and is that a true statement?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No it is not a true statement.

OpenStudy (agreene):

so, you know that that isnt a solution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh my goodness, is it really not a solution can you explain please?

OpenStudy (agreene):

that ordered pair isnt a solution because of the above. 5 isnt bigger than 39 if it was a solution than the y>6x-3 would have to be true

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, now I get it, thanks again so much. ;)
