What role did King George and/or Parliament have in the boston tea party?

The answer is roughly that King George violated the statutes of the Magna Carta which precipitated much of the argument for both the revolution and the boston tea party. King George tried to claim that Magna Carta didn't apply to the colonies. The colonist felt otherwise.
