Well, you need really top notch grades, and you need to demonstrate that you are better than everyone with really top notch grades. Maybe winning a science olympiad, or building a solar car or something like that and maybe you play an instrument really well...And of course you have to write a very compelling essay.

by "winning a science Olympiad" do you mean state level competition? I have a 4.0, 11th grade math, AP classes, play violin, do nhd, volunterring, and will most likely win scioly for certain events during my freshman year. would you say that i have a decent shot at MIT?
