what is the ratio for the series 1/5, 1/8, 1/11, 1/14, 1/17.... i know that you add 3 to the denominator but what would the ratio be to see if it converges or diverges?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There is no easy Un=kU(n-1) thing here.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If expressed as a polynomial series, it'd have degree 4 at least. Do you want the series or the sum of the series to converge? The series tends to 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

intuitively you would expect the sum of the series to converge to a limiting value - thats as far as i can go im afraid

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hold on - the denominators are an arithmetical series with common difference of 3 -

OpenStudy (anonymous):

each term from 1/8 on can be written as 1 / ( 5 + 3n) where n = 1,2,3....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol = -i dont know if that helps!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

does it converse or diverge?
