my bad, I wrote something extra here how it suppose to be question "how many ounces of a 15% alcohol solution must be mixed with 4 ounces of a 20% alcohol solution to make 17% alcohol solution."

OpenStudy (amistre64):

in that case: 4(.20-.17)/(.15-.17) , and ignore the sign

OpenStudy (amistre64):

6(.15) + 4(.20) = 10(.17) .9 + .8 = 1.7 1.7 = 1.7
