Graph of a Function Draw the graph of the function -x^2+x+2 Graph of a Function Draw the graph of the function -x^2+x+2 @Mathematics

OpenStudy (agreene):

This is going to be a downward facing parabola. the highest value of y will be 9/4 while x is at 1/2 roots are x= -1 and 2

pls taech me,how to i get the table of values inother to determine the shape of my graph.i have test next week

OpenStudy (agreene):

you get the set of data just like any other function. plug in for x and find your y. to find where it crosses the x-axis (roots) you need to set it equal to 0 and solve... in whichever ways you know. to find the vertex (the point where it flips) you can use the information you get from using the quadratic equation. more on that here: http://www.uiowa.edu/~examserv/mathmatters/tutorial_quiz/geometry/findingvertexofparabola.html
