exercise! help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, I need to resolve this derivative exercise using the Law of Definition of Derivative

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\sqrt{9x ^{2}+16}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

any help please?

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

write it as\[y=\sqrt {9x ^{2} + 16}\]then let\[z=9x ^{2}+16\]\[dz/dx=18x\]so\[y=\sqrt {z}=z ^{1/2}\]\[dy/dz=(1/2)z ^ {-1/2}=1/2\sqrt {z}=1/2\sqrt {9x ^{2}+16}\]\[dy/dx=dy/dz * dz/dx=(1/2\sqrt {9x ^{2}+16}) * 18x=9x/\sqrt {9x ^{2}+16}\]

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

sorry, mis-read your question. i answered this using the law of derivatives in your other post.
