Well it depends I'd go with VB.net as its easy to learn and has many tutorials and for me is a great foundation language. For web programming Id say HTML and CSS

i would go with C, coz it is foundation for all types of programming , even web programming...

I've done lots of reading around and the recommendation is Python - easy form, not too complex but is powerful

I think C is the best choice.... why because, C provides the minimum basic knowledge on computer programming.. So, I recommend  to start with C...

you can start with any language. you should have a book of that particular language written by a good author .Then start reading and practice.everything has been written ..Object oriented concepts,classes.arrays..etc..
