Find the slope of the line through each pair of points. A(2, 4), B(–2, –4) annnd F(–5, 1), G(0, –9)

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

No such line since thats like.. (drawing)

?

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

|dw:1320162732842:dw| Those are your points graphed (roughly)

I just don't understand how to get the "slope" of a line xD

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

Mmkay :D I'll help you.

OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

|dw:1320163089268:dw| In that equation, y=2x-5, the formula y=mx+b, b is the y intercept. So, in this formula, the y intercept is -5. m is the slope. The slope is written as rise over run, and as you know, 2 can also be rewritten as 2/1, right? :D So the slope of the formula is 2/1. To get the slope, just count how many movements to the left/right, and up/down it is!
