Can we define a rule for a sequence like this:

\[a_{(2n-1)}=2^{(n-1)};\ a_{(2n)=0}\]

the sequence in trying to match is:

{1,0,2,0,4,0,8,0,16,0...}

wolfram gives something a bit uglier; but im not sure if this way is conventional or not
