What is ATP?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) The organic molecules in food contain stored energy that is released when their chemical bonds are broken. During cellular repiration, high-energy electrons are harvested from an organic molecule and it is used to make adenosine triphophate (ATP) molecules. ATP provides energy for most of the wrk done by the cell. Cellular respiration is more than common because it is more efiecient to forming more ATP from each organic molecule. It isa multistep process. Organic Compounds + Oxygen → Carbon Dioxide + Water + Energy
