Okay, this is the second problem that confuses me- In an isosceles triangle, the base is 6 more than 4 times one of the legs. If the perimeter is 51 cm, find the length of each leg.

You have the base in terms of legs. The legs are equal since its isosceles So, L+L+(4L+6)=51
