using this triangle that is attached Find AB if BC= 3.42, AC= 10, β=70, α=20 using this triangle that is attached Find AB if BC= 3.42, AC= 10, β=70, α=20 @Mathematics

[cos(alpha)] x [BC] = AB

OpenStudy (radar):

Are you here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea

OpenStudy (radar):

We are given the hypotenuse as 10. We also know that angle alpha must equal 20 degrees. We now can find BC.!: Sin 20 degrees=3.42/10 Agree 3.42 is the opposite side, and 10 is the hypotenuse.??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (radar):

Sin 20 degrees......wait a minute, we already know BC We are looking for AB

OpenStudy (radar):

restart: Cos 20 degrees= AB/10 AB being the adjacent side, and 10 the hypotenuse.

OpenStudy (radar):

Using some algebraic manipulations, this can be rearranged to be: AB=10 Cos 20 deg. do you follow this transition?

OpenStudy (radar):

My calc says 9.39 seems rather large alsmost as long as the hypotenuse lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah thanks very much for the help here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the 9.39 worked

OpenStudy (radar):

You have a good evening, TV time for me lol.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol ok thanks for the help once again

OpenStudy (radar):

ur welcome
