what is the LCD of 5/6 and 8/15

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

30

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i thought LCD were supposed to be lower than the original denominators?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

least common denominator can be found by finding the least common multiple between the two numbers. the factors of 6 are 2*3 the factors of 15 are 3*5 using those factors, cross out the two that are the same and then multiply the remaining factors times the other number you are working with. in other words... cross out the 3 factor and then multiply either 5*6 or 2*15

so jhonny is correct.
