simplify the expression (-3y^5)^2(x^3y)

OpenStudy (valpey):

Do you mean: \[(-3y^{5})^{2} * x^{3y}\] Or maybe: \[(-3y^{5})^{2x^{3y}}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the first one accept its (x^3y)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think you just have to multiply it so you get 9x^3y*y^10

OpenStudy (valpey):

Ok, so: \[(-3y^{5})^{2} * x^{3}y = -3^{2}*y^{5*2}*x^{3}*y = 9y^{10+1}x^{3} = 9y^{11}x^{3}\]
