Hey. Alright. Yes "Running Head: [text]" does go on the first page of an APA paper. This is how you remove "Running Head" from the first page... (I use Word for MAC, so it may be different). First, you need to click on the Header so that it opens up. Then you open your Toolbox/Formatting Palette, and you should have "Header and Footer" option. Once you find it, you will be able to mark (in a box) "Different First Page". So then you can write "Running Head: [text]" on the first page, and [text] on the following pages.

It is a screenshot of how I did it etc. Always easier to see the instructions instead of reading them.

thanks I got it! This APA is a learning curve as it has been 30 years since I was in school. Now I am working on my MSN...should be interesting!

I have the Riverpoint Writer downloaded through my school and it is very handy. It does all the running heads for me and the spaces between the lines, indents etc. I love it. It makes the title page as well.
