When a gas changes to a liquid, energy is: A. Absorbed B. Released When a gas changes to a liquid, energy is: A. Absorbed B. Released @Physics

OpenStudy (stormfire1):

Since it takes energy to turn a liquid into a gas, the reverse is true when going back to a liquid...so it's A

OpenStudy (cathyangs):

I thought that energy is released when it's gas to liquid...

OpenStudy (stormfire1):

Crap...I totally meant B. When going from a liquid to a gas, you have to add energy (so it absorbs it). When going from a gas to a liquid, the energy is released. Sorry for the confusion.
