How many bytes would it take to represent a 480x720 color image if 8-bits are used per pixel per each color component? @Physics

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I answered 480x720x8 bytes, but apparently I'm wrong according to the online homework console.

OpenStudy (stormfire1):

I believe it should be 480 * 720 * 8 * 8 * 8 (3 colors = RGB...4 if there's an alpha channel I suppose)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

480 x 720 x 3 is the right one, the homework console says though..

OpenStudy (stormfire1):

Yea...I shoulda got that right. It's 3 colors bytes per RGB not 8 * 8 * 8 :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it may have to do something about 8 bits per byte.. im guessing that's bec of 3 colors and there's 1 byte per color

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh wow sorry late reply, but you got it haha. thanks

OpenStudy (stormfire1):

Yea, I just answered too fast :) It's 480 * 720 * 3 ...brain fart

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wanna help me too with the other 2 unresolved questions?

OpenStudy (stormfire1):

sure..if I can

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha thanks, if you want, just click my profile and the questions should be there

OpenStudy (stormfire1):
