yeah still this is pretty lame for a question... for the first to get the sum and not the net sum you have to take the absolute value or -(A2) so you get A1-A2 second one pull out the 5 keep the negative and it's a1 A1-A2-5A1=-4A1-A2... that is my assumption... it doesn't really give you an idea on whether it wants the net or just the actual sum... if you were not to do anything about the negative part of the graph you'd get a Net Sum
