I think you are mistaken about plants feeling pain. Plants do respond to stimuli, but since they have no nervous system it is impossible for them to "feel" anything. As for the hens, yes--normal ones do. However, the genetically altered hens that are in the food supply (for the post-industrial world, at least) do not. They have been made to not have nerve impulses so they can't feel. I don't think talking about love to a poacher will change anything.

I've been more than generous to let you lead this discussion, but I feel it's only prudent that I know ask you something. With more than 1 billion people in the world without access to food on a daily basis, how can you ethically argue that we should reduce food production and allow even more people to die of starvation? It seems your central argument is that we should love each other and everything around us. A noble argument, and one I agree with... however, I value a human who is suffering more than a suspicion of "pain" or "suffering" to an animal. More than likely this is just excess empathy as we personify animals.

Hmm, that is a thought provoking question. I suppose I'll go back to epistemology and point out that what we know is only what is perceivable and therefore we cannot know things we cannot perceive. Since I am not able to create life from nothing, it is impossible for me to understand why it came into being or what--if any--purpose the lifeforms have.

On the other hand, we could impose mathematical/scientific logic, where you are asserting that there is a meaning to life--a purpose we are here. You have not proven this claim, and it is therefore untrue.

I live in America. We eat too much, most of the people in my town eat enough food for an entire family to live on with each meal. Most Americans throw away enough food each day to allow one other person to not die to starvation.

I'm not one of them. I grow vegetables and fruits in my garden, and trade my extras for meat from local farmers, and milk from local dairy farms. By doing this, I and my community have reduced our waste, while increasing how much food everyone gets and we sell our foods to the local city at a considerable profit.

India is, unfortunately, not the place to have such intrinsic worries. Nearly 1/2 of the population in your country doesn't have access to clean water. As it happens I work for a non-profit organization that finds funding to give to places in need of wells, pipes, etc. to have clean water. We have projects in all areas of the world.
