can someone help me figure out the parallel and perpendicular equations for this: y = -8x + 1. I have parallel: y = -8x + 21 and perpendicular: -1/8x +38/8

yes and no. the first one is correct, but the slope is wrong for the second one. The perpendicular slope for any line is the negative reciprocal. So the -8 becomes -(1/-8), which is...
