\[x=\left( -b \pm \sqrt {b^2 - 4ac} \right)/2a\] therefore we have \[x=2 \pm \sqrt{5}\] So your other solution is 2-sqrt(5) One possible quadratic is \[(1/2)x^2 -2x-1/2=0\]
